The Story of a Noble Family (Chinese: 金粉世家) is a 2003 Chinese television series based on Zhang Henshui's novel Jinfen Shijia, directed by Li Dawei. The series was first broadcast in 2003 on China Central Television in mainland China.

Xiang Yu Qiu is an orphan. A decade ago, his girlfriend, Luo Ting, died and donated her cornea to a sick 10-year-old girl named Xiang Lian Xin. Now ten years later, Lian Xin has returned to China after finishing a degree overseas. She meets her donor’s younger brother, Luo Rui, who falls in love with her at first sight. However, Lian Xin secretly adores Xiang Yu Qiu, the ex-lover of her cornea donor. Xiang Yu Qiu can’t face Lian Xin – Every time he looks at her, he sees Luo Ting’s eyes. So, he has no choice but to suppress his feelings for her. Under great pressure, Lian Xin unexpectedly falls victim to Alzheimer’s and Yu Qiu tries everything to help her get well.

An involving, beautifully modulated yarn about a young intellectual's "war" with two equines in a mountain village during the Cultural Revolution. A young student, Ma Jie, who is sent to a tiny Beigao village in Shanxi Province and has the mundane task of watching over livestock during the Great Cultural Revolution. Surrounded only by the extreme boredom, he initiates a war against two donkeys. What ensues as a result, is an impressive feature debut by director Li Dawei who manages to infuse a believable quirky and black humorous universe within a realistically grim setting.

Manager Hou is very wealthy, and he comes up with another idea to make money. He organized a weight loss tour which lets the fat man go to the tourist side of the Three Gorges River. There they can both go sightseeing and lose weight.
