Sixteen years after the events of Mysteriet på Greveholm, a new family moves into the long-neglected castle. Left behind after the Olssons’ departure, the ghosts Jean and Staffan have spent years alone in the dilapidated halls and are delighted to finally have company, eagerly trying to make the newcomers feel at home. The Olsson family, weary of city life, rents what they believe is a house in the country for a traditional Christmas. Instead, they arrive at the grand castle Greveholm, where the children soon discover the castle is not like any other – it is haunted.

During December 2006, we get to follow hairdresser Tiffany Persson, firefighter Kaj-Åke Kajan Hansson, foreign correspondent Morgan Pålsson and his photographer Robert Flycht, and Göran and Jolanta Jonsered from Svenska Kändisresor on four Fridays on Sveriges Television. Unlike seasons 1 and 2, which were characterized by random sketches, this time we follow the characters as they prepare for Christmas. It will be a Christmas filled with loneliness, shopping frenzy, and inflated expectations, mixed with saffron buns, winter tires, and fire extinguishers.
