Biography
Na Gyi is a writer, producer, and director, known for his feature films, “Mi” (2019) and “What Happened to the Wolf?” (2021). His debut feature film “Mi” won the best director of photography award at AIFFA (2019) and was nominated for the best picture award. “Mi” also won the best director of photography award at the STAR AWARDS (2019). His second feature film, “What Happened to the Wolf,” won the best film award at Hobnobben International Film Festival (2022) and the best narrative feature award at Dili International Film Festival (2021). Na Gyi is considered a promising and prominent filmmaker in Myanmar Cinema. After the February 2021 coup d’état in Myanmar, the military junta violently captured and imprisoned thousands of people who participated in anti-coup and civil disobedience movements. Many protestors had to flee the country, Na Gyi is among them. The ruling junta issued arrest warrants under section 505 (A) against him. Na Gyi is still in Hiding. Na Gyi was honored with the Oldenburg International Film Festival’s Honorary Tribute Award (2024) for his steadfast commitment to filmmaking, even in the face of exile. The story revolves around the life of Mi, a free-spirited young woman in the very conservative 1940's Burmese society, and her many lovers. She drinks. She smokes. She thinks you're a joke. She's also traumatized, insecure, and very tired in life. She's like a butterfly ... a butterfly pinned to a cardboard. Will she risk tearing her delicate wings to free herself?

Moe grew up in strict traditions. Way is rebellious and free-spirited, born with defected heart, shutting everyone off around her so that she can die anonymously. They meet at the hospital when Moe is diagnosed with cancer. Although outwardly calm, Moe is scared of impending death, finding solace in a carefree Way. This odd pair are drawn to each other.

As their unlikely bond deepens, Jeep Too must navigate between his guilt-ridden hallucinations and growing feelings for Potae, while she desperately seeks to reclaim her lost capacity for emotion through their connection.
Bo Ma
A young woman had to flee the country after the February 2021 coup d’état in Myanmar. The activists and CDMers were brutally captured and imprisoned. Very few came out from Myanmar military interrogations. Some chose death over military tortures. For her, dying was not an option.
