Eleanor Hallowell Abbott

Mr. Bretton's wife decides she would rather pursue an opera career, so they separate, leaving him to raise their young daughter Daphne (Mildred Harris). She is expelled from boarding school after Richard Wiltoner is found in her room under innocent circumstances. Her father sends her to the Adirondacks, where she meets a rogue and soon elopes with him. When her father discovers that he is a bigamist, he has their marriage annulled. Happily, Mrs. Bretton returns to her husband and Daphne and Richard fall in love and marry.

Molly is an irrepressible young lady who decamps from her grandmother's farm where she learns of the dire poverty with which they are threatened. Coming to the city, she seeks a position and failing to find one, hits upon the scheme of writing letters to invalids for the purpose of cheering them along the road to recovery. It so happens that her only subscriber is Carl Stanton, in whom she has already taken a violent interest. Carl is totally ignorant of the identity of his little correspondent until matters reach a climax which brings about a revelation of the fact that it is none other than Molly.

Eve Edgarton decides to devote her life solely to her love of botany, but unexpectedly falls in love with a man who shares none of her intellectual interests.
