Giorgos Mazis

A traveling theatre troupe tours the Greek countryside from 1939 to the early 1950s, staging “Golfo the Shepherdess”. As the years pass, its members endure persecution, betrayal, executions, and exile. Their personal stories become entangled with the country’s major historical events, in a seemingly endless cycle of violence and loss.

Yiorgos is released from prison after 14 years of incarceration for a murder he committed in his small Greek village. He spends his first night out in a cheap downtown hotel in Athens. There he meets Strella, a young trans sex worker. They spend the night together and soon they fall in love.

A young typist in a company, Maro, knows that her boss's son dislikes her because of her unkempt appearance and clumsiness. With the help of a friend, Maro transforms herself into a modern and charming young lady, and uses a variety of tactics to impress her boss's son, until she finally succeeds and it is now his turn to pursue her.

A gruff highlander leaves his village and heads to the town and harbor where he will embark for Australia. We follow his descent to the sea through three stories
