In a dystopian 2049, three women in Taiwan navigate their roles as mother, daughter and wife — as technology takes a toll on their lives.

In a declining small town, an idle boy encounters a heartbroken girl. Trying to escape, they devise a secret plan and set off for a one-way journey.

A middle-aged man who had emigrated many years ago and now is returning to Taiwan to help deal with the funeral affairs of a friend with whom he has not had contact for many years. But he is encountering many difficulties because he is not a relative and can not sign legal documents. This trip is a journey back to his hometown and about nostalgia; it is also an atonement for a late farewell.

This film follows the lives and the loss of love experienced by four separate couples, including an elderly man who falls for a woman that he had been interested in as a young man.
