For over 30 years, Cora has woken up every morning at 4am to go work at the factory and raise her daughter, Alex, gone to Paris, much to Cora’s regret, to try and become a filmmaker. As Cora is about to retire, she would very much like Alex to finally abandon this risky choice, but Alex is preparing her first film.

Far from their former reality, in an ancient now deserted palace, a group of men and women share their life stories and explain how they survived, living and sleeping in the streets of Porto.

Once a week in Paris a group of individuals from all corners of the world meet in a small room at Centre Pompidou to participate in free French lessons. Asylum seekers, businessmen, doctors, lawyers, and students sit side-by-side and immerse themselves in polite, if stilted, conversation. However, tensions and misunderstandings occur as the nuances which each participant attempts to express become lost as they struggle to access the language. But despite their differences - and linguistic limitations - the disparate group of strangers in a foreign land find, in the small gestures and subtle looks between the words, a way towards understanding.

Theo, fourteen years old, dreams of being a manadier. He begins his apprenticeship guided by Mickaël, who works for him. During the summer, Theo will have to put his dream to the test and face the beast.

A teenage girl, her young brother and their mother cycle through a desolated area, seeking for the sea. While the children bravely hang on to the hope of escaping this seemingly doomed place by boat, the mother seems to be eaten up with despair.

In the XVIIth century, the imaginary and meticulous account of the life and fall of Mathurin Milan, a man whose folly has always been to hide from his family, to lead an obscure life in the country, to have lawsuits, to lend at usury and at a loss, to wander his poor mind in unknown roads and to believe himself capable of the greatest jobs.
