At night in a kindergarten, all the toys sleep except the bunny on watch. A raging storm bursts the window open, and rain threatens a little teddy bear on the sill. The bunny leaps to help but slips, injuring its paw and waking the grumpy monkey. Seeing the danger, the monkey springs into action, extending the fire-engine ladder but accidentally dropping the bunny onto the elephant’s trunk. The monkey climbs the trunk, shuts the window flap, and rescues the shivering teddy by helicopter. With Teddy safe, the toys settle back to sleep.

But since this happens in his dream, he manages, with the help of his sister, to pull the compressed train apart again like a harmonica. Both children get on the train and go home.

Maus und Bleistift
Little Bear wants to surprise his mother for her birthday with a picture he has painted himself. To avoid being discovered, he sits on the chimney of the house. The smoke that seeps into the kitchen obscures the mother bear's view and a pot breaks. The little bear empties his money box to get a replacement. On the way, he meets his friends playing ball and joins in enthusiastically. The ball bursts in the bear's paws. The little boy spends his money on a new ball. When his friends come back, he tells them what the money was actually meant for. They understand his grief and together they make a new pot, which the baker bakes for them. With flowers, the painted picture and the pot, they wish the mother bear a happy birthday.
