Egor lives in a small seaside town and is graduating from high school this spring. He cannot stand the routine of his life much longer, and with his loyal friends Kisa and Hank, they start to look for excitement in their small town.

Minsk, August 2020. Pasha and Yulia, a young married couple, leave the house at night and find themselves in the midst of peaceful protests. Everyday walk turns into a real hell, in which innocent people are victims of police brutality.

Kostya and Olya are university teachers. On vacation at a sanatorium, Olya found a more respectable partner for herself - Sergey. However, the opportunity to irritate her father at a dinner with her potential stepmother seems tempting. After all, her father recently kicked out her boyfriend Maks for "not being serious."

The Ferris wheel is a good place for a last date, because the circle describes all the stages of a relationship. At the bottom, you go into a booth together, go up to the peak, and then everything goes down again. Moreover, no matter how much you swear at the top, you still have to get out of it together at the bottom. During this time, the characters manage to piss each other off, drink, make a wish, swear, hug goodbye and even literally leave the heart.

A subtle melodrama in the old style about youth, memories and the first infatuation that never stops to shine. It is a story about the encounter between two separate universes, of a Russian student and an American researcher, in a tent in nature amidst stunning landscapes of the Caucasus. It begins well and ends well, too. The visual form which illustrates the film contents is an experiment with the format and the use of black, white and colour. With a scent of nostalgia, this cinema evokes the spirit of narration that is rare nowadays. It pays tribute to an old-style romance and is an expression of longing for the little big experiences in life.

Former classmates Masha and Pasha are trying to sort out their feelings and the past once again, they are not doing well. Pasha has a child and an unloved wife now, Masha has a new man who beats her. Maybe this is the meeting when they will be able to get out of this circle of unhappiness?

Yury Butusov’s final Moscow production is this multi-award-winning work based on Nikolai Gogol’s “Government Inspector.” The play deftly delves into the dual impossibilities of both accepting reality and escaping from it. As with many of Butusov’s stagings, chaos and pathos are seamlessly interwoven, with art presented as both freeing and healing.
