Biography
Pierce Conran is a producer, writer and film industry consultant based in Seoul since 2012. He works with Korean filmmakers and production companies to develop film and television projects with international and cross-cultural appeal. Alongside his production work, he produces Blu-rays for premium home video labels including Arrow Films, Radiance Films and Second Sight Films, and works as a film critic for the South China Morning Post and Screen Anarchy. He also serves as a programming advisor for Fantastic Fest and works as a freelance Korean script translator. Previously, Conran was an editor at the Korean Film Council’s industry portal KoBiz and an acquisitions and development advisor for the American production company XYZ Films. Through 2Mr Films he produced several films with independent filmmaker Lee Sang-woo, and more recently produced the Korea-set short film Idols, the first project from Piky Pictures. In 2023 he published his first book, the collection of personal essays Pierce Is in a Pickle, released in Korea by Maum Sanchek. He appears regularly on Korean television and radio and occasionally performs in films, television series and variety shows. He also serves as an advisor to the Asian Film Awards and the Wildflower Film Awards Korea.
