Ronya's mom grew up in Mao's China. She had long braids and working cap. She emigrated to the West as a successful researcher and settled down in Sweden. Who is she? A short film about searching for an absent mother and her journey through life.

Berny Pålsson is a young writer who writes about her drug problems, mental issues and her problematic upbringing. With her last book "Vingklippt ängel" she became cult among her teenage readers. Director Ronja Yu has been following Berny for a long time before publishing her new book.
