Two Elderly Men are asked by the Prime Minister to take care of the city for one day. During this time, they have to deal with the heat, a diplomatic conflict, a love rivalry, and a lack of water. They do it in their style – with a song.

Ja gorę! tells the story of a Pogorzelski nobleman who settles in a ruined castle in Samsonów, determined to restore it, only to be haunted by the ghost of its former owner. A parody of gothic horror literature and cinema, the short is based on a tale by Henryk Rzewuski and was produced as part of the Polish television series Opowieści niezwykłe (1967–1968).

The "Dudek" cabaret group, Edward Dziewoński’s lifetime achievement, one of the greatest post-war cabaret groups recorded by a documentary filmmaker during rehearsals. The stars of Polish acting could be seen on stage, accompanied by excellent songs by Wojciech Młynarski.

Warsaw after the fall of the Warsaw Uprising. The Germans expel the civilian population and then proceed to systematically destroy the city. The capital is transformed into a sea of rubble, among which a few survivors hide – modern-day Robinsons. One of them is Piotr Rafalski, who rescues Krystyna, a wounded Jewish woman. Three soldiers of the People's Army, cooperating with a Soviet telegraph operator, are also in the city.

On Christmas Eve, a little girl falls asleep after a party at her home and dreams herself (or does she?) into a fantastic world where toys become larger than life. Her beloved Nutcracker comes to life and defends her from the Mouse King, then is turned into a Prince after Marie saves his life.
