An event, which main attraction is the dance marathon, has gathered crowds at the market square of the provincial Polish town. Impressive prizes compete with another attraction: the concert of the star singer Jessica. A local outsider Christian falls for the singer. Soon he discovers that her life is far from being a dream and decides to win her heart. In the crowd of marathon contestants we will meet many individuals who dream of winning the main prize for various motivations. Who will turn out to be the winner? Will there be a prize at all? Because two small-time crooks, Simon and Silvio, are lurking around. And why this persistent notion that our life is so often influenced by miracles...?

Twenty years old prostitute and drug addict, Jola, by chance meets Andrzej, a "railway station gay". They try to stay together, in spite of numerous diffculties. They both are carriers of the HIV virus. At the end of their travels they find themselves in the Red Palace - formerly the recreation centre for Party dignitaries, now a home for AIDS sufferers - which is run by father Jan. In the nearby small town aggression begins to grow again the unwanted guests; the house have been promised to the local people for housing purposes... The lives and fates of Jola, Andrzej, and father Jan become increasingly intertwined with one another...

Irena, a postal delivery worker, is struggling with inadequate housing, a drunk neighbor who wants to take her place, and a heartless boss, knowing that the whole day at work, she is leaving her young son. But the worst is the loneliness, exacerbated by her single mother status. She meets a crippled pensioner Jacek, who appears to be the key to her happiness, but tragedy continues to strike.

As high school students put on a politically-engaged school play, tensions begin to rise between them and their headmaster. The conflict seems to mirror the social situation in the 1980s Poland.

Hilda and Augusta - mother and daughter - live in a nursing homei. Daughter feels Pole, and mother - German. Thus they are not liked by surrounding people. Augusta decides to return home after many years. But it is not so easy...

It promises to be quite an ordinary day. A day during which viewers have the opportunity to peep into the lives of seven couples. It may seem that the camera captures snatches of the lives of random characters. This is an illusion. These people, although they do not know each other, once witnessed a certain accident that left its mark on them. On each different, but still... The first couple: Maciek and Lena. He was involved in a car accident. He was traveling with his lover at the time. Now he is confined to a wheelchair. He suspects his wife of infidelity. His obsession, harassment and aggression ruin their lives. Couple two: Kasia has found the man she wants to spend her life with. When the boyfriend confesses to her that until recently he was a woman, she can't explain it to herself. Couples three, four, five, six and seven also have their own dramas, secrets.

In the documentary Magdalena Łazarkiewicz used a lot of archive material with her husband, who talks about his professional path and his true fascination with cinema.

A film about the 5th International Film Festival of Cinematographers "Camerimage '97," which was held traditionally in Toruń from November 30 to December 6 last year. The author attempts to present the psychological and technical conditions of the cinematographer's profession and to sketch a collective portrait of those who practice it. The program includes interviews with the world's most outstanding cinematographers. Last year's festival brought together such great names as Ron Fortunato, Jack N. Green, and Vilmos Zsigmond. The film also shows workshops led by the best professionals in the field. Students exploring the secrets of this difficult art will talk about their expectations of the cinematographer profession. The individual sequences of the film have been composed by the director in such a way that they form a narrative sequence according to the growing emotions and moods, abstracting from the chronology of the festival events.

A small town located right in the middle of Europe, but in reality probably at the end of the world. It is dominated by the depressing atmosphere of the Stalinist era, the still vivid memory of wartime atrocities, and bitter ethnic conflicts. Above all, however, the town has its own secret. Seven years earlier, a bloody pogrom against Jews took place here. Bogdan, the son of one of the victims, tries to uncover the truth. Torn between his father's story and his mother's story, a witness to the madness of Chaimka, a survivor of the pogrom, he flees the hardships of growing up in the "middle of Europe" only to return years later to the cemetery where his parents are buried.

At the end of the 1980s, high school students watch fragments of a congress of the Union of Polish Artists and Designers that took place in 1949. During the congress, socialist realism and pictures representing the imposed aesthetics were proclaimed. Viewers will learn about the attitude of young people to the communist system and the art of those times.
