Biography
Michael League (born April 24, 1984) is an American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is the bandleader of New York–based instrumental band Snarky Puppy and the international music ensemble Bokanté. He also founded the band Forq with keyboardist Henry Hey, and is also an owner and founder of the record label GroundUP Music. League has won five Grammy Awards.

Snarky Puppy - Empire Central
In February of 2015 Grammy-award-winning band, Snarky Puppy, recorded a monumental album in front of a live studio audience with guest instrumentalists and vocalists from all over the world. The entire album was recorded in stunning 4K resolution and features candid interviews and acoustic performances from the guest artists only available in the documentary/concert-film. The project is a true testament for showing first-hand how music can be a bridge between diverse cultures from countries from all over the world to create a unifying musical statement for the average listener or the devout music-connoisseur.
Snarky Puppy - Family Dinner - Volume Two
From the moment Snarky Puppy played its first overseas show to a sold-out London crowd, they felt at home in Europe. Recorded and filmed live with a studio audience over 4 nights in the Netherlands, 'We Like It Here' capture the band at its most exploitative point in its career, in both composition and improvisation. The film also contains over an hour of interviews, behind the scenes tour footage in Europe, and alternative solo takes from the recording sessions.
Snarky Puppy: We Like It Here
Recorded in late May 2015 in front of a live audience at Union Chapel in London, this powerful performance features the very best of this talented keyboardists (and founding member of Snarky Puppy) solo catalogue. Featuring Snarky Puppy band-mates Michael League (electric and upright bass) and Robert Sput Searight (drums), with contributions from percussionist Felix Higgenbottom and a full string section and French horn. This is a truly great contemporary jazz piano concert with nods to modal jazz icon Bill Evans, post-Coltrane piano giants McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock, and the fusion of Joe Zawinul & Chick Corea.
