A journey into the depths of subconscious of a city formed by human beings. The inhabitants of the city undergo the sessions on the couch. Unlocked by questions, e.g. what kind of animal is the city? they begin their journey into the depths of their own feelings and emotions. The city itself is only the starting point and over time, conversations get more and more intimate. The scenes from life, reminiscences and highly emotional moments interlace with the subjectively perceived shots of the city. They are blending together, complementing and interacting with each other. The fears of the film characters, their desires and unfinished affairs become a common fate.

Helge was lured away from his studies at the teacher training college and drawn into the magical world of Kaizers Orchestra because he was the only one in class who could play the harmonium and accordion. He never dreamed of being a rock star, nor even really liked rock music - but he has lived the rock-n-roll life ever since.

Norbert, the protagonist of the film, is a priest. But also a father and a criminal convicted of bank robbery. His future is uncertain, as is his family's.

The film presents eight different stories about love - each seen from a different point of view. Starting with the biological approach, where love is understood as a result of a chemical reaction, through the love that parents give to their children, siblings to each other, to the sympathy of two people - first infatuation, and with time a mature and stable bond. The picture does not idealize love, however. It also touches on the problems of betrayal and loneliness in the modern world.

Women of all ages come to a large house in the countryside for the so-called "Circle." It is an informal meeting of women who, detached from the rhythm of everyday life, share their experiences.
