Petya and Vova are oceanographers in their class, and while Petya was taking an academic leave, Vova had already received an offer to work in China. Petya comes to say goodbye to his friend before leaving and meets many strangers at the party. For some reason, the only one missing is Vova's neighbor Zhenya.
Olya is a crazy girl who escaped from an orphanage. Maxim is a blind guy, tired of the quirks of a rich father. By chance meeting, the guys decide to drop everything and go to sea.
