The Sanremo Music Festival is the most popular Italian song contest and awards, held annually in the town of Sanremo, Imperia, Italy, and consisting of a competition amongst previously unreleased songs. The Festival was the inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The police send an unemployed classically-trained musician—under the cover of a trashy wedding singer—to infiltrate the entourage of an elusive Mafia boss.

A Mafia boss fakes his own death aiming at a fresh start, but a nurse happens to see him alive and well after the funeral. A hitman is promptly sent to get rid of her, only to find out she's his first and unforgotten love.
