Biography
Zoljargal Purevdash is a Mongolian filmmaker. Her first short film Over the City, Under the Sky (2010) won the Cinema Club Award from the West Tokyo City Film Festival. After graduating from film school in Japan, she returned to Mongolia and worked on several films as a first assistant director. Since then, she has directed two experimental short films called Burgundy (2013) and Outliers (2017), both screened at the Altan Khalis Independent Film Festival. Now she is working on script development of her first feature film, I Wish I Could Hibernate. The script has been selected by the Talents Tokyo 2017 and won the Talents Tokyo Award. It was also selected for the Torino Film Lab Extended Script Development for 2018.

Ulzii, a teenager from a poor neighborhood in Ulaanbaatar, is determined to win a sciences-physics competition to get a scholarship. His illiterate mother finds a job in the countryside, leaving him and his brother and sister in the middle of winter. Ulzii wanders around at night looking for things to burn for heat while preparing for the national competition.
If Only I Could Hibernate

A young filmmaker travels across Asia to document independent women directors, but their stories bring her own past to the surface.
Framing Her

А little boy lives in the poor suburb of Ulaanbaatar with his father who is an alcoholic addict. In his mind, there is always an idea to commit a suicide because his father abuses him permanently. His father spends all his money for Vodka, so the boy bought every single food by 100 grams. This is an experimental short film which wanted to show the boy`s inner feeling by non-traditional editing.
Burgundy

An uneducated, migrated nomad Tsetsen works as a ticket seller on a public bus. Due to the smart card reader installation, she loses her job. Her lover persuades her to go back to the countryside with him, but her son refuses.
Yellow Bus

Living in a city is punishment for a nomad who moves freely across the land. Simply waiting at a stoplight is akin to being in a cage.
Outliers

A young but sexually frustrated woman fails to fix the broken light bulb of her rental apartment bathroom. She lives with her daughter as her husband does long-term blue-collar work in abroad. After her apartment window cracked, she feels more lonely and naked. When the landlord visits to fix it all, she infatuates with him.
Naked Bulb

A young man's dream to make a living in Ulaanbaatar is put to the test when he must navigate the social and physical obstacles in his path.
Stairs

A comedy about a person who misunderstands democracy and freedom, it presents a darkly humorous take on a social tragedy. The five main actors show that everything should have its own rules and regulations, but what can happen if you deviate from them.
