A man fails to break up the relationshiop between the girl he loves and her fiance. He decides to prove his love by writing lyrics for the songs she composed and entering them in a contest.
Seok-bom and his wife, Yeon-ok, live a secluded life in a hut by the ocean. Seok-bom makes woodcarvings. One day, Yeon-ok is praying to the phallic god for a child when she is swallowed by the ocean and killed. Afterwards, bad lucks continues as all the men of the village except for Bong-keun is killed in a boating accident. Every day, the widows visit Seok-bom's hut where he is carving a phallic god. Bong-keun had been crippled in an accident. So his wife, Sun-deok, goes to pray for his recovery every day to the phallic god. Bong-keun misinterprets his wife's actions. Soon, his doubts are put to rest by Seok-bom and Bong-keun and his wife are happy again. Seok-bom follows his wife and throws himself into the ocean. In memory of the couple, the village holds a rite in their name.
Model, Seong-min, falls in love with Eun-ju who is a hallucinating kleptomaniac suffering from memory blackouts. Seong-min learns that Eun-ju's husband had murdered her fiance long ago and forced Eun-ju to marry him with threats of death. Seong-min becomes determined to rescue her but he may not survive her husband's fury or Eun-ju's own mental state.

She begins helping her friend Woo-jin in establishing a youth center but Woo-jin's estranged wife and a bitter Hyeob unite to make the pair miserable.

His intentions are money. Ultimately, there is infidelity at the end of Jang-suk's knife and the adulterers fall. Jang-suk also falls to the knife that he himself holds.
Min-ae, who sets up a home in a military camp town with Seong-ho, a young man from the neighborhood, thanks to his stepmother's help, has her dream of newlyweds shattered by Seong-ho's abandonment of work and a debauched lifestyle. After seeing her meeting with Jakbu, Min-ae goes to Seoul with her daughter Gyeong-ae, and although they have a hard time, she settles down. Then Seong-ho appeared and apologized for her mistakes and asked for funds for her business. She took out a loan to provide the money, but it was a lie. Now Min-ae becomes a hostess at a salon named Miss Kim. There she meets an architect named Hyun-seok. Min-ae, who found out that Seong-ho took Gyeong-ae away from her but is in her orphanage, brings her back to live with Hyun-seok, but Seong-ho appears and tries to take Gyeong-ae away, but Seong-ho, seeing her happy family, goes back alone.

Unhappy with life in America, she returns to Korea in an effort to escape her controlling husband and get a divorce.

However, with Christianity taking hold in Korea, Eul-hwa finds her way of life threatened and herself at odds with her religious son.

Man-su sacrifices himself to save Jeong-mi, who is in her crisis, after her first crime fails. She finds that Jeong-mi discovers a different side of her Man-su, and she entrusts her body to Man-su without even feeling her love. Seok-gyu, Jeong-mi's ex-lover, encounters opposition from her parents due to the bankruptcy of her Jeong-mi's house. Man-su threatens Soo-kyung and Seok-gyu, who are trying to find her Jeong-mi. At Seok-gyu's plea to save her fiance, Jeong-mi again joins the plot of Man-su's big crime.
