Bituing Walang Ningning is a Filipino television serial drama. It began airing on ABS-CBN on May 15, 2006, and ended on October 6 that year. For most of its run, the soap opera was the network's highest rating show in primetime. The station referred to the TV series as SineSerye, meaning Movie Serialized TV Series. The series was supposed to end on September 25, 2006 but ended on September 6 due to coverage of the Special concert staged at the Araneta Colesseum and a taped interview for the series on the 19th and also rehearsals tapings and dubbings which were occurring during the run. The finale was in 5 parts for its finale week and also introduced its current Primetime Series and Pilot Maging Sino Ka Man on the 6th with its Pilot moved to a different timeslot and would also be the replacement of the Phenominal Series. On October 8, 2006 a "Himig of Pasasalamat Concert" was staged at the Araneta with all of the characters which was also televised live the series also showed a glimpse of behind the scenes footage and also sung the themes from its successful Album produced by Star Records and Viva Records although it was said that some parts of the series was supposed to also be produced by Viva such as songs sung by Sarah Geronimo herself and the theme of the song originally popularized by Cuneta in the film.

Talentadong Pinoy is a Philippine reality talent show. Hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, it displays performances from singers, dancers, actors, musicians and comedians, to contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, ventriloquists and magicians. Contestants are allowed to perform any act they want. One difference to the Got Talent series is that the judges give their opinions on the performance of the performer and the jury decides the winner. It is aired every Sunday

The franchise was first awarded by FremantleMedia, 19 Entertainment and CKX, Inc. to ABC Development Corporation in 2006 and then to GMA Network in 2008. Just like the premise of original show Pop Idol, Philippine Idol aims to find the best singer in the country who can be defined as the "national" singer. Local television personality Ryan Agoncillo hosted the program. Ryan Cayabyab, Pilita Corrales and Francis Magalona were also judges of the show. Agoncillo, Corrales and Magalona auditioned to be part of the program, while Cayabyab was chosen by the program's producers. Meanwhile, actress Heart Evangelista hosted the daily updates program I ♥ Philippine Idol: Exclusive. Composer Mel Villena was the show's musical director. Mau Marcelo, an aspiring singer from Lucena City, defeated two other contenders on the show's Finale to become the first Philippine Idol. FremantleMedia subsequently awarded the franchise to GMA Network and their version of the program was named Pinoy Idol, which does not recognize the results of ABC's franchise.

Half-sisters Aileen and Romina, along with first cousins Ruth and Sandra, reunite in Camiguin to bury their grandmother.
