Lasse Pöysti's directorial debut film. And Helena Plays On (1951) is based on Aino Räsänen's second novel of the same name in the Helena series. When the Winter War breaks out, Arttu (Jussi Jurkka), the son of Helena (Irma Seikkula) and Jari Junkkeri (Erkki Viljos), go to the front. Arttu proposes to his girlfriend Elina (Leena Häkinen), but the world events come in between. When he is not heard of at the end of the war, the relatives begin to believe that Arttu is dead - everybody else but not Helena.

A story built around the music of Oskar Merikanto, tells the love story of the poor musician Lauri Alanko and the daughter of the rich Grahn family Annina. Annina’s family doesn’t approve of the relationship, and the couple’s happiness is also threatened by Lauri’s worsening eye disease.

After a robbery, a gang of bandits led by Kulaus-Ramperi flees Helsinki on the Kuopio express train "Lentävä kalakukko" and tries to hide in the crowded train filled with music and singing. The cheerful conductor Saastamoinen protects the motley crew traveling on the train.

Kalle, a shy and absent-minded civil servant at the comparison agency, unwittingly becomes Minister of War. He receives help in his new role from Maria, the daughter of Finance Minister Karpio. Problems in the performance of his duties lead Kalle to a court martial, and he resigns from his ministerial post to start a new life with his neighbor Leena.

'Tup-Akka-Lakko' is a sequel to 'Koeputkiaikuinen ja Simon enkelit' in which doctor Jyrä invented a test-tube-adult who looked exactly like Mutikainen, a mathematician. When the test-tube-adult's body emerged, his voice moved into Mutikainen's body because of the doctor's error. Problems ensue.

An ex-finnish army officer Kari Kivi returns to Finland after 12 years of absence. He is quickly hired by a businessman named Östermalm to be his stand-in to escape the ring of spies threatening his life. Many beautiful women cross Kivi's path before the spy ring is eventually crushed.

Private Tossavainen and Corporal Konstila end up cleaning the apartment of Captain Kulma, their company commander, while trying to avoid outdoor duty. The neropats compete for the attention of maid Maiju when Captain Agatha's aunt, who has spent her life at sea, arrives for a visit with her foster daughter Emma, turning the entire barracks upside down.

"Mussu" Koikkalainen, a country boy moves to town to find a job. He finds it and is even promoted to head of complaints department. But little he knows.

Three Finnish girls travel to Stockholm to look for work. But soon they notice that the big city is not such a great place as they thought. Most of the foreign men who they meet there are crooks and liars.

The film is based on characters from the Mänttien TV-asema sketches featured on the Spede Show.

The invisible UFO men Giljotin and Orvaskesi land on Earth and take on the appearance of the first people they encounter, Mr. Tossavais and psychiatrist Pehmeäleff. The eccentric professor takes the alien devices he has found to his laboratory, where one of the components ends up with Joona Maaperä, a manager suffering from stress, causing him to behave strangely.
