Plot revolves around the post-war decades and tells about the fate of former participants of the Great Patriotic War - Vera Boglyuk, Nina Verkhovskaya, Dusya Koroleva, Zina Skvortsova and Natasha Druzhinina.

One evening, the bell rings at Commissioner Maigret's house. Minister of Construction Puan asks the commissioner to come to his apartment urgently, keeping this request a secret from the police authorities.
