Arendsvlei is a South African, Afrikaans-language telenovela based on a concept by Theltom Masimila which revolves around a semi-private high school on the Cape Flats run by the Cupido family, in the fictitious community of Arendsvlei.

Deep in a lush valley are four wine farms and four wine families. Four families surrounded by mystery, love... and murder. Four wine farms - Rossow, Le Fortune des Vins, Smoorberg and Mount Jolley - exist in a crease in time in their valley, almost completely untouched by the outside world. Until the winemaker on Rossow, Deetlef Koen, is murdered.

The program is based on the eponymous stage production. It's a situation comedy built around the actors Lida and Johan Botha, who make their appearance as Stanley and Deborah Vermeulen, or Grandpa and Grandma. It deals with various aspects of growing older and their adjustment to be grandparents. Deborah's niece, Anna, lives with them in the house, and Patience is the insistence of their son, Seuna appointed as their nurse.
