The film is based on a legendary school film of Tomáš Vorel, called INg (1985). The storyline stays the same - a young engineer finds a new job and wants to work, this proves to be impossible in the last days of the communist era.

Vladimír Michálek chose an unconventional adaptation of Franz Kafka's novel for his feature debut. Artistically reminiscent of the classic films of Karel Zeman, the director reinterpreted this dark story of a man vainly seeking a place in a rigidly ordered society by changing the desperate conclusion into a happy end. The film provided Czech comedian Jirí Lábus with a new kind of role: that of the despotic uncle of a main hero Karel Rossman (Martin Dejdar).

Friends Petr and Michal, who have known each other since high school, live completely different lives: one has already settled down, has a well-paid job and a family, the other is a loner with unfulfilled artistic ambitions. But they are still united by their passion: graffiti.

Honza Marak has long since abandoned a career in IT and has bought a cottage on the outskirts of a small village, where he’s settled in with his wife Marketa, daughter Anyna and son Sayen. He works in the woods as a forest labourer repairing roads and enclosures, cutting wood to sell and assisting the foresters. Marketa earns a living as a masseuse and alternative healer, making use of various mind-altering plants and mushrooms, which leads to conflict with the old inhabitants and eventually with drug enforcement. Daughter Anyna attends a distant school where her grades deteriorate as she wanders the woods learning from nature rather than from her textbooks.

Milan has already achieved a respectable career, holding an important position as a sales representative in Morocco and living the life of an exclusive diplomat. Dana enjoys herself with her lover and, in her "spare time," naturally torments Milan. A marital quarrel at the most inopportune moment during an important business visit causes their premature departure, and Milan, who caused Dana numerous injuries in the heat of the moment, is hospitalized in a psychiatric ward. Dana naturally takes advantage of his mental shock and, with the help of her maid Bohunka and a weak-willed head physician, regains absolute control over Milan. However, a young psychologist named Táňa is also doing her internship at the sanatorium, and she immediately takes a liking to the intelligent patient…

This film essay about mushrooms and their connections to other living things tries to use the structure of mushrooms to explain nature, science, and civilization, all the while searching for various analogies, such as the similarities between mycorrhiza and other structures.

A computer programmer and his son are going out of the city for vacation.

A tragicomedy full of slapstick and vignettes, and even an unexpected shootout. A family of villagers moves up in the world - to the county seat. Dad works as a butcher at a meatpacking plant, mom is a checker at a supermarket. The daughter is at odds with her homeroom teacher, while the son - a vegetarian, anarchist, and avid pothead - is apprenticing as a butcher to please his father. The kid's in hot water with both his forewoman and the police. But dad isn't much of an example, letting himself be tempted by the charms of a lovely young butcher. However much mom tries - visiting the beauty parlor, her psychologist, or even the confessional - her husband shows his interest by moving out. Mom plots revenge. And somehow an imp gets mixed up in it all

The protagonists are the same, only five years older: Kocourek Kolman, mother Kocourková, mother Kolmanová and father Kolman. Kocourek applies to study graphic design at the UMPRUM. He has not been accepted twice because there is a great interest in studying at this university, only a select few are accepted. Mother Kocourková has long given up on the dream that her son will study something proper and that she will ever understand him, and so she increasingly talks to herself with a bottle of vodka. Kolman, meanwhile, is studying in his second year at the University of Economics. But instead of lectures and seminars, he is only interested in his classmates. He packs one after another. He solves his exams and credits by fraud or bribery. Kocourek, on the other hand, is conscientious and hardworking and falls head over heels in love with the enchanting Júlia, who is also applying to the UMPRUM.

The story is about a plumber, who is called Good man from the bones. He is not afraid of any work, he manages all the work he gets. Wittily responds to every situation that befalls him.

A young man is enchanted by a beautiful girl and does everything he can to impress her. However, he doesn't understand that she is just making a fool of him for fun.

This film is about life of a family, which lived in Prague since since 1968 to 1980. Father of the family comes from Ukraine and so every year someone from Ukraine to visit this family and to buy something more better than is in Ukraine. As the times go by, the friens of family live in Austria. And now for change the family visit "a better life" in west Europe and they found out how it is to be something second-rate.

The film was made by Tomáš Vorel while he was still a student at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The short film is a peculiar retelling of the first The Rapid Arrows comics of Jaroslav Foglar. Let us recall that the leader of the future club Mirek saves Jarka Metelka from cruel torture with tennis balls, for which both of them earn the displeasure of the Brotherhood of Cat Paws.

Quite a few years have passed since November 1989. Czechoslovakia has been divided up and, in the Czech Republic, Václav Klaus’s right-wing government is in power. Karel Vachek follows on from his film New Hyperion, thus continuing his series of comprehensive film documentaries in which he maps out Czech society and its real and imagined elites in his own unique way.

Eva Holubová, Tomáš Hanák, David Vávra, Milan Šteindler, Martin Dejdar, Jitka Asterová have all starred in early short films by Tomáš Vorl. Nobody knew them at the time. And they themselves had no idea that they would one day shine in the Czech film sky.
