The film takes place in the summer and spring of 1940. Isä, the father, gets involved in the stock market and threatens the livelihood of the family.

After a weekend of dancing and camping on a recreation island near the city, a young factory worker decides to stay and cut work for a day. Walking around the now deserted island, he meets a beautiful woman camping alone and sunbathing in the nude on the beach. A hot romance flares up between the worker and the more upper-class married lady, lasting through the light-filled nights of the whole summer week until the woman's much older husband returns to the island the next weekend.

The holiday of Pharmacist Himanen and Lieutenant Paavo Kehkonen turns into a nightmare when they pick up Station Chief Viirimäki, who is in a hurry to get to work. Their boat engine dies and runs into the rocks, leaving them stranded on an island with no clothes. Posing as a woman, Himanen gets to know the police chief's daughter Alli, but as a result of coincidences and misunderstandings, the two men end up in jail, each suspected in turn of being a fugitive Vikström.

Princess Sleeping Beauty is cursed by Tuonettare and falls into a hundred-year sleep, from which she can only be awakened by a kiss from the prince.

Pirkko Mannola and Esko Salminen play young pop stars of the same name, who develop a secret romance that is kept hidden from the other musicians in the pop orchestra. Between musical scenes, Pirkko introduces Esko to Ville Salminen, Toivo Kärki, and Reino Helismaa, among others, and gets him a spot in a big pop music show.

Tuula, Mirri and Aino are roommates at a nurse college. At her hospital internship, Aino works with Dr. Eero who has had an affair with Viivi, the director of the nurses' dormitory. At the same time, Tuula is starting to get closer to Mirri's fiancé Ragnar who has begun to doubt Mirri's love and loyalty.

Set in North Karelia, whne Antti Ihalainen's house runs out of matches, he goes to borrow some from a neighbor. On the road, he meets a rich widower, Jussi Vatanen, who asks Ihalai to be his speaker and friend on an engagement trip to the city of Jo. The hosts from Lieper are snorting drunkenly from behind their shoulders.

Olli, a schoolboy from the Suominen family, accidentally causes two accidents, which he does not dare to confess to his father Väinö. He runs away from home in Helsinki and tries to get to the Savijärvi clearing camp with his friend Jaska. The journey, which began joyfully, turns into a nightmare when the boys, who have run into trouble, have to flee from the law and Olli's lively little sister Pipsa.

“Tukkijoella” (Log River – 1928). Films of this genre gave the Finnish cinema and the viewing public one of its most popular characters – the lumberjack (tukkijatka, tukkipoika, tukkilainen) who at his most heroic hour becomes the log-roller or the shooter of rapids (koskenlaskija). The significance of this character in Finnish film is comparable to that of the Cowboy on American cinema. He is the pioneer, the wanderer, the adventurer. He negotiates the frontier, he is an embodiment of the conflict between wilderness and civilization.

Little Matti, who has been living in the countryside with his grandmother, leaves for Helsinki to search for his missing mother, Kerttu. In the city, he is helped by Taneli, a homeless alcoholic artist, and Salme, a girl who lives with her alcoholic aunt.

A poet finds a new muse in young woman.

Sinikka, the young mistress of the Lenteelä house, gets into a relationship with her neighbor Antti while her husband Jukka is away at the front. The couple becomes the subject of gossip throughout the village, and Sinikka, feeling guilty, seeks reconciliation from her husband and the community. Her mother-in-law, who is hostile towards her daughter-in-law, also wants reconciliation.

The self-assured manager Julius Särkelä maintains strict discipline in his office and at home, which is experienced by his daughter Saara and her suitor Martti, as well as the landlord Heroja, who is chasing his debts, and even the cat belonging to the patron Fallsten. Dr. Kosonen softens the stern leader by giving a speech at a party, which ultimately revolutionizes Särkelä's worldview.

Kalle, a shy and absent-minded civil servant at the comparison agency, unwittingly becomes Minister of War. He receives help in his new role from Maria, the daughter of Finance Minister Karpio. Problems in the performance of his duties lead Kalle to a court martial, and he resigns from his ministerial post to start a new life with his neighbor Leena.

In a military camp, the arrival of a group of women causes admiration and confusion. In particular, Sofia, the captain's mother-in-law, turns the lives of the general and soldier Hurska upside down.

Eager young radio reporter Teräsvuori stages a one-man burglary into the Helsinki Art Museum, recorded on tape for a later broadcast by his friend Laakso. Things go awry when a gang of real criminals overhear their plans and book their heist to coincide. Teräsvuori gets caught but escapes from police custody to start his private investigations together with female radio colleague Eila.

St.Petersburg, 1830. An arrogant Finnish baron is playing cards with a Russian officer. Needless to say, the Finn wins and the Russian gets extremely annoyed. The situation is not helped by the fact that the baron has been seeing a girl that the Russian officer has also set his eyes on. They decide to have a duel and after the Finn wins fair and square, he has to escape because the untrustworthy Russians are after him.

In the comedy set in Etelä-Hämee in the middle of the 19th century, Esko, the son of a cobbler, goes with the speaker Mikko Vilkastu to find a bride for himself from Karri's adopted daughter, Crete. However, not everything goes according to plan.
