From a satire to a psychological thriller, four short stories from celebrated auteur and writer Satyajit Ray are adapted for the screen in this series.

On the eve of Independence, the chairman of the Border Commission, Sir Cyril Radcliffe decides to divide India and Pakistan into equitable halves. What the administration doesn’t account for is the line running through the middle of Begum Jaan’s brothel situated plonk on the border; with one half falling in India and the other in Pakistan.

Inspired by the real events that took place in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve where people used to leave their elderly family members for tigers to prey on, and then claim compensation from the administration, it is a story of Gangaram, a patriarch of a farmer family entrenched in poverty because of three consecutive failed monsoons. He enters the forests to adopt the infamous Tiger practice to give up his life so that his family can have two square meals, however, what follows next is a series of unprecedented events.

Jawto Kando Kathmandute is a Feluda mystery where the detective travels to Kathmandu with Topse and Jatayu to investigate a murder and a fake medicine racket, ultimately confronting Maganlal Meghraj, a familiar antagonist.

The story revolves around a hotel named "Shah Jahan Regency" and lives of people associated with that hotel. The hotel is one of a kind and very different from others as it strongly believes in the rich culture of India and tries to imply and maintain that in every aspect of the hotel - starting from the decor, to uniforms of the staff members, to the names given to various parts of the hotel.

Nirbaak is a hyperlink narrative comprising four love stories connected by a single woman. Every love story comprises one entity which is silent and thus Nirbaak (Speechless)

In August 1947, the British passed a bill regarding the partition of Bengal. Delving into the grim history of the Partition, Mukherjee's movie Rajkahini is woven around a border between the two nations that runs through a brothel housing 11 women.

Rajiv allots a huge amount of responsibility of the organization on Sohag. Sohag confronts various layers of corruption in the work field. She realizes the suppressed discomfort of the workers there. Rajiv doesn’t take any initiative to rectify the situation. In the meantime, Abhijit’s physical condition deteriorates and he mumbles about her unsuccessful business of producing perfumes. The simultaneous crises related to the conjugal failure, Abhijit’s illness, Rajiv’s consistent admiration weave the narrative of the story. Sohag resigns from her job.

Tekka is the story of Iqlakh, a janitor who has lost his job and is out to get it back by holding a schoolgirl hostage in a building. ACP Maya comes in, a woman who is trying to conceive. Add to the mix a young journalist pair, Brishti and Tintin, and we have a sentimental thriller in an office building spanning 48 hours, full of melodrama.
