The pleasant voice of "Nemat," a young man from Ahvaz, causes "Jamshid," the owner of a cabaret in Tehran, to gain popularity and wealth. However, when Nemat tries to use his talent for his own benefit, Jamshid, who has suffered losses, seeks revenge by trying to marry Ameneh by giving money to her father. But Ameneh, who is in love with Nemat, throws herself into the river and commits suicide, and Jamshid falls into the claws of justice.

Haji Jabbar is a wealthy man, who is chided constantly by his family for avarice. Haji intends to marry off his daughter, Parvin, to a wealthy old man.
