Stubbe – Von Fall zu Fall is a German crime detective television series starring Wolfgang Stumph as detective Stubbe. It is being broadcast on ZDF, the second German public television channel since 1995.

When a single phone call is the difference between life and death: Jan May holds five hostages captive in a radio studio and plays a perfidious game of amok with them every hour. If a caller answers with the wrong slogan, a hostage is killed. Criminal psychologist Ira tries to stop the hostage-taker from killing and to meet his demands. But what nobody suspects is that Jan seems to have a personal connection to the psychologist...

A group of actors are rehearsing an historic escape from Germany of 1939: The Cruise Liner St. Louis is on its way to Cuba, 900 Jewish refugees on board. Cuba denies access. On board: Paul, Elsa and their son. Do they have to return to Germany again and probably die? A group of today refugees from Africa, fleeing from war and death in Syria, enter the theatre. They are supposed to work here as extras. A culture clash begins and becomes a crossover story between escape 79 years ago and today.

A young woman falls in love with a charming but unattainable man who comes from a wealthy family. Their relationship is put to the test by social expectations and personal challenges. The film explores the search for true love and overcoming obstacles that may stand in the way.
