Lucky Blondo (born Gerard Blondiot, 23 July 1944 in Paris, France) is a French singer who was popular in the 1960s. His heyday came during the emergence of French rock. His main successes were "Sheila", "Baby Face", "Dix petits indiens", "Sur ton visage une larme" (a French version of the song "Una lacrima sul viso" by Bobby Solo), and "Des roses rouges pour un ange blond". He is one of the few French singers to have performed, in 1977, 33 tours in Nashville with The Jordanaires, the vocal group that sang with Elvis Presley. In 1978, still in Nashville, he recorded an album of covers entitled Ce vieux cow boy, including, in particular, "Une santé dacier" and "On ne t'oubliera jamais". He then worked in advertising, before returning to singing in 2006 for a retro show. He lives in Audierne, a seaside city in southern Finistère, where he lived in the mid-1970s. What do Patricia, Badou, François, Dingo and P'tit Jeannot have in common? They live in the Paris suburbs, they are young, they are on the verge of breaking away from school, from the working world or from the Army. Their meeting place is "La Javanaise", a bar held by no-nonsense Janine and her lighter husband Lucien. There they mix with their idol, Daniel, also known as Frankie Mégalo, a film projectionist and a rocker without a band. Most of the efforts of these born idlers will consist in finding a band and a venue for Frankie to perform and in laying hands on cash by means fair or foul to go to the Southern sun.
La bande du Rex
Roland and Martine, once child stars in a TV series, have sunk into a life of crime. Answering an ad from Isabelle, a young girl seeking work with children, they abduct her with the intention of selling her into prostitution. At the last moment, having become fond of her, they relent and set out to take her home. She rebels, insisting that she enjoys their exciting life of stolen cars, stolen cheques, hotels and restaurants left without paying the bill, and the threesome become a formidable team. Then Isabelle's mood changes again and she disappears with a hitch-hiker. Worried over her future, Roland and Martine trace her to the town where she is about to get married and abduct her, this time from the church steps. Roaring off in a stolen ambulance, the three are happily on the run again.
