The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes is the second foreign version of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-produced reality television series The Ultimate Fighter. Like The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, this version was filmed, in its entirety, outside Las Vegas, Nevada and consisted of 13 episodes with a live finale in Australia. The season tournament finale, along with the coaches fight, took place on 14 December 2012 at UFC on FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson.

The main event was a heavyweight rematch between The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil season two coaches, and perennial contenders AntĂ´nio Rodrigo Nogueira and FabrĂcio Werdum. It is a rematch of the first fight, in Pride, in which Nogueira won by unanimous decision back in 2006.
UFC Fight Night 53: Nelson vs. Story was a mixed martial arts event held on October 4, 2014 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. The event was headlined by a welterweight bout between Gunnar Nelson and Rick Story.
UFC Fight Night 84: Silva vs. Bisping was a mixed martial arts event held on 27 February 2016 at The O2 Arena in London, England. Michael Bisping was originally expected to face Gegard Mousasi at this event in a non-headliner middleweight bout. However, Mousasi was replaced by former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in favor of a main event. Three days later, it was announced that Mousasi would face former title challenger Thales Leites.
