A Peruvian paleontologist is invited to a conference in Buenos Aires and expects it to be a short and peaceful stay. However, the lacerating heat of the city and a woman who, it seems, suffers from similar ailments to his, make his visit a suffocating and painful review of his existence.

At night, a mother, a father, and two children converse and dream about ways to free themselves from the trapiche, a machine and a tool of work that seems to come to life during their daily routines.
