A girl has been killed in exactly the same way as in author Eigil Strøm's latest novel. Now there's a knock at the door. Standing in front of Strøm is a strange man. He wants a signed copy of the book, but Strøm is suspicious: Who is this man? Why does he want to come in? And why is he asking so many questions about the murdered girl?

Simon has just moved to a remote village with his parents. The night of New Year's Eve he's introduced to some new friends who bring him along on a traditional venture around the village celebrating New Year's Eve.
