Guilt and sexual jealousy are the main dynamics behind Skouen's gloomy and intense tale about Oddmund, a former Resistance leader who caused the death of 12 refugees during the war.

The main character is a little boy, whose sick grandfather lives in the attic. Every time the grandfather wants something, he hits his stick in the floor, which makes the boy believe his grandfather is a stick. The film deals with misunderstandings between adults and children, since children can perceive things differently than adults.
