Best Friends follows the life of a group of friends at their high school ‘Spangalis College’. Inside and outside of school exciting and challenging experiences take place. Growing up is never easy; every character has its own, unique story of love, friendship, loneliness, sorrow, discovery. There is drama and joy in school, family, teachers, parents, divorce, bullying, and always dreams for the future.

Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. His metropolitan experience nicely complements the local expertise of his new country colleagues, who know the folks. Slowly he fits in, while solving countless crimes together with his female partner Eva van Dongen.

Jörgen's world is crumbling. Teacher Jochem sticks to the plan he has drawn up for the week-long study trip - in teams, the students will complete various assignments, the highlight of which will be a survival drop at the end of the week. Jochem tries to motivate the students, but has a hard time of it. Their tangled web of contradictory interests is not good for harmonious cooperation. What starts as a quick-money scheme turns into an unexpected rebellion, as the store’s eccentric shelf stackers refuse to be made obsolete.

Najib, a young Moroccan born in The Netherlands, has just graduated from law school and aspires to get his master's degree. Because his older brother is being arrested for criminal activities, Najib is now required to take care of his family overnight. Events are jostling in his life. He abandons his studies and fails to meet the needs on his own. Being on the verge of despair, he is approached by Brahim who offers him help. The latter will exploit the of vulnerability and finally convinces him to fight the "holy war".
