Biography
Rafael Arévalo has become one of the most prominent and important filmmakers of the so-called Peruvian Independent Cinema or New Peruvian Cinema in recent years. He is a graduate of the Charles Chaplin Institute of Communication Sciences. He owns his own production company, El Topo Producciones. He has directed the short films "Agonía," "El Paso del tiempo vade retro," "Capucha Negra," and "Pisco," which participated in the 5th Filmocorto 2011 Short Film Festival organized by the Film Archive of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. His feature films include his debut, "Alienados" (2008). In 2010, he released "Casa Okupada." In 2011, he made "Objetos," and in 2012, he presented "AM-FM."
