Biography
Armando Discépolo (1887-1971) was an Argentine theater director and playwright, creator of the Creole grotesque dramatic subgenre and author of several classic works of Argentine theater. He was also the brother of the tango poet and composer Enrique Santos Discépolo.

Giácomo is an Italian man in his forties who is single, dedicated to earning money in his business. He strikes up a relationship with a Spanish singer, whose brother encourages her to conquer him to take her money.

Cars and progress made an old carriage-driver jobless and so desperate that he becomes a gangster. When his own son starts a life of crime, he repents and gives himself to the authorities. When he lives prison, he will be happy to rejoin his family, as his son repented, too.

Mario Soffici's first introduction to film direction. Short made in 16mm, where he adapted some scenes from Armando Discepolo's script "Muñeca" as an experiment to compare the differences between theater and film. It was recorded in the dressing room courtyard of Teatro Avenida de Mendoza.
