When teenager Dante's parents go on vacation, they give him strict instructions not to "make anything up" while they're away. But when Dante and his friend Tvärsan find a diamond ring in the snow, they're drawn into an exciting detective adventure.

Ante Nordlund is on his way to Stockholm and gets a ride with a diplomat in his car. He leaves Ante at the entrance of Grand Hôtel where he gets treated like a millionaire.

Pelle and Maja are going on a holiday to Italy. The trip is canceled. Maja travels home to her mother. Pelle is persuaded by his friend Kurt to forget Italy and accompany him to Swedish west coast instead.

Fabian Bom is a waiter at a hotel in a small town. But he dreams of doing something else - to dance and sing on a stage. He is madly in love with Matilda Roos, singer and diva. Fabian is too insensitive to notice that Annie, who works in the kitchen, is in love with him. Encouraged by Matilda, Fabian leaves the hotel and goes to Stockholm to become famous. But, as he soon learns, it is more difficult than he first thought.
