A collection of human stories from the streets of Stockholm. Taxi 13 becomes the link between them. One night a taxi driver disappears.

In Gothenburg. Louise is out walking at night - and witness an assault. She knows the attackers well. It is her sister Berit with boyfriend Ernie. Louise is told to be quiet of what she has seen. She moves to Stockholm.

There is a new English teacher in school, Miss Lind. She moves in with the Nilssons, whose son Sigge prefers playing with his trumpet than to study German. Miss Lind convinces him how important his studies are. But Sanna, a girl in Sigge's class becomes jealous and angry when Sigge prefers his homework instead of her. Plot by Mattias Thuresson.

"In rain and shine" - Sid och Filibert are identical twins. Sid is a theater manager and composer and when his brother arrives to Stockholm for a position at the Museum of Natural History, Filibert is mistaken for Sid.

Iben Holt, a rich bohemian, lives in an occupied country. On his way home from a party he hears an explosion and sees flames rising from a factory. At home awaits another surprise.

Young Anna Rydell comes to a boarding-school for girls. She is very shy and the other girls don't really try to get to know her. The French teacher Martin Andreasson, who Anna falls in love with, lives at the boarding-school with his wheel chair-bound wife. Her handicap has made her depressed and Martin finds it hard to love her like he used to do.

Karl Oskar Bohm looks back at his life, his estranged daughter Augusta and his wife Sofia.

"She Came Like a Wind" - Fabian Rosander works at a factory and is close to 50 years old. When a new employee named Lilly, a young beautiful girl, comes to the factory Fabians life takes a new turn.

Harry, returning home after six years in an asylum, has vivid recollections of a party many years ago with six of his friends. The party ended with one of them, Raoul, disappearing. A gardener is digging in Harry's garden when a skeleton and a watch with the name "Raoul" is found. Harry invites his friends to a dinner to solve the mystery of Raoul's disappearance.

Olle works as maître d' and hopes to buy a hotel with money he borrowed. When his creditor dies Olle gets tricked by his lawyer and has to pay back 50,000 crowns in eight days. In order to pay the money he answers the ads in the newspaper looking for a maid.

Björn Norell, a bookish assistant to an art dealer, is fired because of his inability to find the third of a trio of Buddha statues. In order to get his job back, Norell, goes on a hunt to find it in order to get his job back. Meanwhile, the art dealer has sent his daughter Ulla after him to retrieve the statue. When silly inventor Svensson gets mistaken for Swedish/American aviator Smith, he is accidentally enlisted in the military and drawn into unexpected romantic affairs.

An artist lives with his wife in a large house on the countryside. She is bored, longing to return to the city and her life as an actress. She leaves him. He falls in love with a young girl, not knowing that the girl is his wife's daughter.

Görel and Arne are about to get a divorce. Görel thinks back on how history has repeated itself within her family.
