Since the events of October 7th, the identity crisis of the Bedouins in the Negev has intensified. Torn between a Palestinian identity, childhood memories, and family in Gaza, and their Israeli identity and citizenship, the film portrays the complexity and internal conflicts they experience. Through the stories of five characters, each dealing with the crisis in their own unique way, deep layers of identity, belonging, and coping with a changing reality are revealed.

The film portrays the renowned illustrator David Polonsky, during his work on a new children’s book. Along with his masterpieces: “Waltz with Bashir” (Winner of the Golden Globe) “The Congress” (Winner of the European Film Awards) and “Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation” (Which was published all over the world) the film also depicts Polonsky’s own intimate world as a child who immigrated to Israel from Kiev and as an artist who’s art explores identity and roots.

The musical and soul-searching journey of Gabriel Belhassan, musician, former orthodox Jew and recently diagnosed with manic depression. After being released from a mental institution he began working on a solo album. But leaving his family and moving to Tel Aviv frightens him - the urban solitude, pressure, disturbed sleep and totality of the music bring on the disease again. His manic attacks have him standing on the brink of sanity, reaching out to God, just as he did when he was a child. Refusing to give up, he struggles to finish the album and receive the artistic acclaim he so desperately wishes for.
