Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss, crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

Baantjer is a Dutch television programme which was broadcast by RTL 4 from 6 October 1995 until 1 December 2006 for a total of 123 episodes in 12 seasons. It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his helper. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer. In 1999, RTL 4 broadcast the television film Baantjer, de film: De Cock en de wraak zonder einde because of the tenth anniversary of the network.

He moves in with Charlote, a naive, caring relative in the country, where he starts frolicking, no longer caring for image, career or possessions, but concentrates on enjoying life -such as a draftee relative's Brueghelian wedding- and finds love with Marieke. One day, Doctor Kroch (Henk van Ulsen) receives a chest full of gold, accompanied by a half-illegible letter pleading for help. The doctor pays no further attention to it; the patient, after all, is asking for a cure for... gold fever. When the chest is later stolen by bandits Oenk (Tabe Bas) and Boenk (John Lanting), Doctor Kroch starts to think there might be more to it after all. He decides, together with his servant Valet (Henk Molenberg), to try to find the sender of the letter, the Duke of Woestewolf (Ton van Duinhoven). During his journey, the doctor is warned by Esmeralda, a gypsy fortune-teller (Elsa Lioni). Nevertheless, he continues his journey. “Ghosts do not exist. Everything can be explained by science,” the doctor claims. But the closer he gets to Woestewolf, the stranger his adventures become.

In reality, Nel is trapped in an abusive marriage and Greta is forever in the middle of their confrontations but her life takes a positive upturn when she becomes involved with a client.

After a year's trip around the world, twenty-year-old Daniël comes home where a surprise awaits him. In his absence, his boring bourgeois parents have become completely captivated by the sexual revolution. In their new trendy clothes and their 'groovy' white interior, they make sexual freedom a mockery. This upsets Daniël so much that he flees again. This time to the 'peaceful, unspoilt countryside'. Disillusionment awaits him there too. Frustrations and sexual obsessions appear to be just as intense there as in the big city.

Frits Egters can't quite get a hold of himself. An intelligent and sensitive young man, repulsion and desillusion turned him cynical. According to Frits there should be more to life - he just doesn't know where to find it.

De Mantel der Liefde is a bizarre, over the top and at times hilarious settling of scores with the Catholic Church, commercial movie culture and 1970's petit bourgeois Dutch culture in general.

Martin Christiaans asks his employer Joop Bubbelman for a pay raise as well as the hand of his daughters. Bubbelman's daughter Colette confesses she is in love and exaggerates by pretending to be pregnant. But Martin does not know the woman he loves, has lied that he is Bubbelman's daughter, and Joop does not realize that his daughter plans to marry his chauffeur Oscar, whom he has recently let go.

Burgler and master safe-cracker Glimmie is asked to find a young woman called Fanny by her rich stepfather Van Borsen. However, Glimmie remains suspicious of the man and decides that Fanny has to be protected by him and his pal 'De Bonk'. He is soon proved correct and winds up a scapegoat in Van Borsen's scheme. After his release from prison, Glimmie plans his revenge with some help from a young cleaning girl called Slofje.
