Moscow, year 1982. Scientist Matvey Pyotrovsky creates a time machine and conducts a scientific experiment, which divides the apartment in two parts. It's first part is left in the 80-s with the professor, while the second one is transported to year 2020 to a modern family: businessman Sergey, his wife Svetlana and daughter Kristina. This kind of coliving creates a lot of trouble for everybody, since layering of two times means each of the families has lost access to the other part of the apartment. But problems don't end there: inventor's grandson Pavel, after waiting for 38 years, tries to prevent one tragic incident.

Petr is not only a successful writer but also is the owner of the agen- cy called Alibi — that creates alibis for the clients who need to hide their lies and failures. His second business is hidden, so he himself has a double life. But his attitude to lies changes when his own wife appears at the agency asking for an alibi. The action takes place from April to December 1986. The KGB department of the USSR becomes aware of the interest shown by foreign intelligence services in the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. To establish the whereabouts of an experienced CIA officer, Albert Lenz, who is suspected of espionage, on the territory of Pripyat, Lieutenant Colonel of military counterintelligence Andrey Nikolaev arrives in the city.

For a long time, Masha Roshchina, a young doctor, did not want to introduce her chosen cosmonaut, Andrei Izotov, to her mom and dad, especially her dad. Masha's father is police lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Roshchin, and Masha's chosen one detests law enforcement officers and treats them with irony bordering on hatred. The meeting of the parents and Andrei eventually takes place right in the wedding palace, and the wedding is disrupted. Masha sets a condition: the future husband and father should get along.
