In 21st century Bucharest, to go out in the city on Saturday evening on the arm of a beautiful woman is a risky financial investment. Ovidiu, an unassuming high school teacher, never could afford it. Looking for a source of income more substantial than a teacher's salary, Ovidiu plunges into a fabulous world – the beggar mob.

In 1999, the show originally featured only one segment titled Pastila Timpului ("The Time Pill"). It was a sitcom about a scientist named Professor Hărăbor, who invented a pill that allowed him to travel through time and embark on all kinds of adventures with his family, often portraying well-known characters throughout history. After the first season, the show expanded to include multiple segments: featuring Policeman Garcea, The Show of the Show, Boyar Moflea and the King and Leana and Costel — a rural couple from Sadova dealing with all sorts of shenanigans involving the other townsfolk.

He wanted to become Someone, and he became somebody else.

It is late in the Ceausescu era in Romania, and Cristina is having a difficult time with her boyfriend. He wants her to have sex with him before he goes off to do his obligatory stint in the army. She wants him to marry her first. She also gets involved with a slightly rebellious actor, a would-be ladies' man. He has some vague plans to defect - could those be the reason he is receiving mysterious phone calls? Or are they the work of his anonymous admirer?

Threatened by Roman invasion, a group of Dacians embarks on a perilous journey to claim a mystical crystal that has the power to save them all.

For many years, three Romanian village boys, Stelica, Aurel and Mitu, have remained the closest of friends. In their youths, they planned to pursue careers as shepherds, but in time their individual paths diverged - leading Mitu into the military, Stelica into the local police force and Aurel into the employ of Maricel, a wealthy resident of the community. The men's worlds change forever when a newcomer arrives in the hamlet - a young woman named Lilica, accompanied by Maricel. She's toting two trucks full of Dutch chickens with her, which inadvertently spreads the bird flu to much of the local populace. The boys, however, soon realize how they can ingeniously turn this potential crisis into a solid profit-making venture for themselves.
