This relationship is not approved by Mr. Hamid who considers lenong players to be lowly in dignity. Barda the Blind (Ratno Timoer) while at Borobudur, is accused of being the murderer of Bimo Adirekso (Wahid Chan). The children who were killed, Subala (Adang Mansyur) and Subali (Adji Agus), did not care about people's accusations. They fight over their parents' inheritance until a big fight breaks out, which is useless, because the will and the treasure map are in the hands of Sekarningsih (Nuke Maya Saphira), also Ben's daughter, and her boyfriend, Bambang Permadi (Rachmat Kartolo). Selendang Mayang (Rita Zahara) stole the treasure, then it was stolen by another person, all the way to Dieng. Here the battle takes place. This film is presented in a mystery style.
On the trail to catch the killer of his brother, Achmad easily defeats a bandit who challenges him. This impresses Citra, a child, who since then follows Achmad wherever he goes. When they come to a village threatened by robbers, Achmad stops and tries to solve the problem. One of the tough guys of the village, Wirya, notices Achmad and is impressed by him and Achmad’s religious devotion. He becomes friends with Achmad and asks him to agree to his condition not to bother Aisah, a village girl, who is actually in love with Achmad. Then the robbers launch a major attack, which Achmad repels. From the defeated chief, Achmad finds out that Wirya is the killer of his brother. Wirya admits killing Achmad’s brother, for committing crime and adultery.
Djoni is a promoter who likes to scam artists by being very persuasive. He is trusted to arrange a performance that is meant as a fundraising gala. Top singers such as Rachmat Kartolo and Titiek Puspa become the stars of the show. Djoni displays his skills, so that even when he cheats, he manages to improvise and arrange the show. They depart for Bandung by borrowing a bus and on the road, there are arguments, jealousy and suspicion amongst the group. The film shows the ups and downs of the life behind the stage. Inspite of everything, the performance is a success.
Sabeni or Ben is an amateur painter who lives in Puncak. He meets Grace and Yuni the sisters, who are replacing their car’s tyre. Ben helps them and thereafter goes often to see Grace. Grace is a daughter of a rich businessman and she asks him to join her band when she learns that Ben is a singer. When Grace’s father is ill, she rushes home and Ben tries to go after her even though he doesn’t know her address. He only knows the address of his friend, Bagio, located behind a tall building that is actually the office of Grace’s father. Finally, Ben becomes a famous singer but Grace’s father still disapproves. Grace is instead matched with Mansjur, who turns out to be a playboy. Thereafter, Grace’s father permits Ben to see her again.
Benny runs away from home and takes his father’s fortune, in retaliation for his father remarrying, and neglecting his first wife until she dies. He buys a villa in the village and befriends a pair of siblings who has also run away from their family for the sake of freedom. They live from stealing and blackmailing. Then there is Iis and Lydia, recent graduates from high school. Iis succeeds on becoming a singer while Lydia, who is about to be married off by her father to relieve debt, chooses to become a nightclub singer. Benny falls in love with Lydia. He stalks Lydia who is about to elope with her boyfriend. When the boyfriend is murdered and Lydia loses her eyesight, Benny redeems himself by helping Lydia with her treatment. He marries her even though Lydia is blind. After she is sure of her husband’s kindness, she agrees to have her eyes treated.
Sri Lestari and her fiancé, Joni are invited to an empty house. Instead, he is met by a policeman who asks him to the police station for questioning. Joni then calls his future mother in law, Rahayu, who later on, pays a visit. When Joni goes back to the police station, Rahayu had left behind a letter after taking poison. The letter tells her life story, about her husband, Yono, who had many wives and liked to sleep around. This prompted Rahayu to get a divorce and start an affair with her former lover, Jufri. But Yono is angry when he finds out about the affair. He fights with Jufri, but ends up being killed by Jufri. In panic, Jufri runs out of the house and is killed by an oncoming truck. Then Rahayu goes to her aunt’s house claiming that Yono has remarried. Frans, the maid begins to blackmail Rahayu but Rahayu later poisons her. All of this happens when Lestari was five years old.
Four girls (Renny Asmara, Tjetty Wulansari, Aty Rochadiaty, Aminah Cenderakasih) live together in a boarding house. They are romantically involved with four different men (Iwan Taruna BA, Rachmat Kartolo, Pong Hardjatmo, Jopic Burnama). There are relationships that are affairs, platonic love, and the story of a secretary who is sleeping with her boss, but ends up marrying the director's employee. The early part of the film is filled with erotic scenes exploiting the girls, and later on, features comical moments.
A naughty high school graduate, Randi, has his eyes on Maya, a beautiful girl he once wooed. So he enrolls in Padjajaran University, Bandung, where Maya studies. Slowly he manages to date her. After they are intimate, Randi receives a scholarship to Tokyo. Randi goes to Tokyo after impregnating Maya. She is confused when she has to face Randi’s parents and also her own mother (who explains that Maya is the daughter of Anwari Sudjarwadi, Randi’s father). Eventually, Maya marries Randi’s friend, the impotent Deni. Randi is called home by his parents who regret trying to use money to solve the pregnancy problem. Randi’s return leads to many misunderstandings. Apparently Randi is Anwari’s adopted son because his mother is infertile.
Marzuki has a relationship with Fatimah, but they do not get her parents’ approval because he is unemployed. He goes to the city to find a job, but then has an affair with Leila, an older woman. Because Leila causes his break-up with Fatimah, Marzuki turns to yet another older woman. But then he comes back to Leila’s arms. He gets a message from his mother that Fatimah is seriously ill. He goes back home and leaves Leila alone.
