Biography
Sidney Edwards is an actress (AEA), singer, dancer, and director based in Los Angeles, California. She has a BFA in Musical Theater from William Peace University and an MFA in Acting from the University of Louisville. She received the Distinguished Actor award at the 2018 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for her performance in Miss Ida B. Wells, performed at the National Black Theatre Festival in Kirsten Greenidge's Baltimore, and toured with Missoula Children's Theater. Favorite credits include Amneris in Aida (Karamu House Theatre, Cleveland OH), Sally Bowles in Cabaret (Legget Theatre, Raleigh NC), and Squeak in The Color Purple (Justice Theatre Project, Raleigh NC). She was a teaching artist at The Cleveland Play House and the Karamu House Theater, and has served as Theater Faculty at Baldwin Wallace and The University of Louisville, where she was the Director of the African American Theater Program.
