In the fictional Poço Fundo, politics and affection mingle in saga against corruption. Cleonice decides to run for mayor while her son, Valdir, pays his respects to a philanthropic institution and ends up falling in love with a girl.

On an unusual day, a series of coincidences lead Eduardo to meet Monica at a party. A curiosity is aroused between the two and, despite not being alike, they fall madly in love. In 1980s Brasília, their love needs to mature and learn to overcome differences.

Nando, a 12 year old boy, narrates the adventures of his father Antonio, during the 60s in Brazil, who leaves the inland of the state of Minas to go to Brasília, a recently inaugurated city, but still with construction works in progress.
