A quartet of childhood pals who create a business together find themselves at the core of a powerful Moscow gang in the aftermath of an unplanned murder.
After the death of Alexey Gradov, the owner of a large construction holding company, his heirs enter into a struggle for a billion-dollar fortune with a former official and business partner of the deceased. On the family side, the war is led by Gradov Sr., the patriarch of the family, who founded the family business in the 90s, but retired. As an ally, he takes the financier and strategist of the company Nadezhda, who was not only a colleague, but also his son's mistress. In addition to the redistribution of assets, the Gradovs — wives, children, grandchildren — are busy identifying old grievances and accumulated claims against each other. They have everything—money, power, connections, status. But that's not enough for them. In the pursuit of inheritance, they are ready to tear apart not only the enemies of the family, but also each other.
In the summer of 1943, the Soviet leadership became aware of the achievements of German physicists in creating the atomic bomb. The task of obtaining secret information about the creation of a new type of weapon that can change the course of the war is given to a Soviet agent acting undercover, Frans Hartmann. A complex multi-way operation begins. Hartman involves the chief of German intelligence, Walter Schellenberg, in whose field of vision is the German scientific genius Werner Heisenberg. The Gestapo also steps in and assigns an "employee of the German Foreign Ministry" Dori to Hartman. At the same time, in Moscow, under the leadership of the talented physicist Igor Kurchatov, work on the Soviet atomic project was intensifying.
Poor Nastya is a Russian telenovela originally aired from 31 October 2003 to 30 April 2004 on the STS. Based on the imperial setting of the 19th century, the series reached international success and was shown in Ukraine, China, Israel, Serbia, Georgia, Greece, Bulgaria and more than twenty countries worldwide. With the budget of $11,8million, it is the most expensive Russian television project of all time. The sequel was planned, but had not been made yet.
