The young hero's father, a famous test pilot, dies in an airplane crash. But comes the first deep feeling for the girl Tanya - and the hero finds the courage to overcome this seemingly intolerable grief. The action takes place in the fifties.

Georgian and foreign alpinists make an effort to ascend a high mountain. The weather is inclement making their effort extremely perilous. Every step on the snow-covered trail is precarious. Professionalism, firmness and compassion have far more value than the physical ability.

The Soviet Union's rowing team becomes the champion at the World Championship. The team captain is a Georgian, who is awarded a trip by the All-Union Pioneer Organization — he is to lead a group of pioneers to Artek. He assumes the pioneers will be athletes and is shocked to discover that he is actually the leader of a girls' musical ensemble.

In a remote Tadjik mountain village, some shepherds come across a dead body. No one knows who he is or where he's from, but they soon discover that he is not a Muslim. As the news spreads, the people decide what should be done with this "infidel."
