Takeshi Hongo is a promising young man with a passion for motorcycle racing. Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan is the fifth season in Toei Company's Super Sentai tokusatsu television series. It was broadcast from February 7, 1981, to January 30, 1982, and is the only Super Sentai series to serve as a direct sequel to its previous series and the only all-male Super Sentai team. Its international English title as listed by Toei is simply Sun Vulcan. This was the last Sentai season to be co-produced with Marvel Comics.

Shigeru Jo joins the evil organization Black Satan after the death of his close friend and mentor Goro Numata. While escaping from Black Satan, Stronger meets Yuriko Misaki another cyborg warrior created by Black Satan who has the ability to transform into Electronic Wave Humanoid Tackle. Together they fight the evil Black Satan and later the Delzer Army to restore peace in Japan.

Ken Takakura's screen debut, following his admission into Toei ranks via the studio's annual New Faces program, came surprisingly enough in this pair of Okinawa karate films. The two-parter was released on Jan. 29, 1956 as two thirds of a triple feature. Both halves run just under one hour. The fighting is actually pretty good for the time, and it's fun to see Takakura as an impatient, bearded karate rascal.
