21st Century Girl is an omnibus feature that is of the girls, by the girls and for the girls. The work of 15 women directors under the age of 30, each of whom contributed an 8-minute film, the package highlights a range of genres, visions and thematic concerns.

Set in an all-girls Christian boarding school, Anna always feels like an outsider due to her ability to see ghosts. Her roommate, Rika, is the complete opposite: an effortlessly popular, well-liked honors student admired by everyone. But when Rika takes her own life, the entire school is shaken, none more so than her closest friend, Shiori, who struggles to make sense of the loss. After discovering Rika’s diary, Anna begins to feel her spirit manifest before her, slowly seeping into her body…

Rei is unable to express her opinions well due to her introverted nature. Her time with her boyfriend, NAKAMURA, is calm but nothing passionate. He practices his table tennis skills everyday to fulfil his dream of joining the Bundesliga, a prominent table tennis league. His old classmates find out of his return and as they hang out together at school, they find where Kanegon is "now".

Minami has a slightly boyish appearance, while Sumire has a charming face that always puts those around her at ease. From the outside, they appear to be just ordinary girls, but how will they meet, what situation will they find themselves in, and what kind of opportunity will it take for them to make their feelings for each other come true?
