The action of the epic film takes place in the second half of World War II. The plot focuses on the liberation of European countries from German occupation and the anti-fascist activities of the communist parties of these countries. After the victory at Stalingrad, a decisive turn occurred during the war. The main aim is the rallying of all patriotic forces, the creation of a national anti-fascist front in the struggling countries. The swift offensive of the Soviet troops, problems with the opening of a second front, major operations and the offensive of the Soviet army lead to the liberation of Europe. Rebellions are rising in different countries - such as the heroic uprising in Warsaw, in Slovenia, Bucharest and other cities. Brave heroes who performed immortal feats in the name of the happiness of mankind and freedom.

The great King of Dacia, Decebal (Decebalus), is disposed to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to keep the integrity of his people. His own son, Cotyso, is given to the god Zamolxis to the dismay of the King and his daughter Meda. Septimius Severus, a young Roman devoted to his adopted country, must make the choice between his blood origins and the culture he was introduced to.

A continuation of a story started in the drama "With Clean Hands" (1972). Commissioner Miclovan's last cartridge is still hot in the pocket of Roman. Left without Miclovan's support, dead in action, Commissioner Roman wants to see his murderer, a very powerful local mafia and smuggler, Mr. Semaca, acquitted by the court for lack of evidence, punished. But before dealing with Semaca, Roman receives a new mission, this time undercover: the capture of a German spy still active in the country, suspected to be hiding in a monastery. In this mission, Commissioner Roman also has a helper, Oarca, a former underwriter who proves good at everything and especially at car chases on serpentine...

In 1942, Nea' Vitu is in trouble with his children: a son is fascinated by the world of war profiteers, and the daughter is going around with the speculator "Treispemii" (Dan Nutu). They no longer live there, the neighbors have changed, and he investigates to find out what happened to them. Nea Vițu, you raise your daughter, Rădița, and son Fănică. His wife Dorina died when Fănică was born. Apparently, family problems are difficult barriers to overcome. He's an honest man. He gets angry at the slick Fănică. Fănică is also chased away by the slum priest, because he wanted to make a new bible... where he'd be Fănică the God .... Rădița goes around with the speculator "Treispemii". In 1942, nea Vițu joins the fight against the Nazis and runs an illegal printing house with a painter...

Lured by the treasure of Moldavia and supplies, Sobieski, king of the Poles, orders the attack on the fortress of Neamț, and Captain Ghinda organizes the betrayal. In view of the overwhelming majority of the lezs, they send the young Ioana to the king, but the traitor Ghinda also covets her. And so, in the Moldavian camp, new idylls and intrigues keep brewing until all that is left of the fortress are the ruins.

Vulpașin is desperatley in love with Nastasia, but she is partial to Luca, which works at a factory outside the slum they live in ("accros the lifting gate").

A newly hired engineer is also an amateur boxing star. He also dreams of becoming an actor. He is pushed in different directions, he also wants to get married.
